Therapy
Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Therapy for Healing and Growth
If trauma or anxiety has left you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode, you don't have to navigate healing alone.
At Third Eye Counseling, I provide a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you can safely explore your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and build a greater sense of calm, confidence, and self-trust. Therapy isn't about erasing the past. It's about helping you understand how your experiences have shaped you, restoring a sense of safety, and supporting you as you move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and meaningful.
Who I Help
I work with adults experiencing the effects of trauma, anxiety, and chronic overwhelm. Many of the individuals I work with feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or caught in patterns that no longer serve them.
Together, we work to reduce emotional overwhelm, strengthen coping skills, increase self-awareness, and develop a greater sense of safety and resilience. Therapy is tailored to your unique experiences, goals, and pace because healing is never one-size-fits-all.
What Therapy Is Like
I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process. My role isn't to tell you who you should be or how you should live your life. It's to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you discover your own path forward.
People I've worked with often describe me as calm, grounding, and intuitive. They tell me they feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward with greater confidence and self-understanding.
Therapy is collaborative. Together we'll explore your experiences, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen practical coping skills, and reconnect with the resilience that's already within you. Sessions move at a pace that feels safe and appropriate for you.
My Therapeutic Approach
Every person brings a unique history, set of strengths, and life experiences into therapy. Because of that, I don't believe in using the same approach with every client.
Instead, I integrate evidence-based approaches and creative therapeutic techniques to create a treatment plan that reflects your individual needs, goals, and comfort level. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, recognizing the profound ways trauma can affect thoughts, emotions, relationships, and the nervous system while also honoring each person's capacity for healing and growth.
Approaches That May Be Part of Your Therapy
Depending on your needs and goals, therapy may incorporate one or more of the following approaches.
Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR)
As a certified Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) facilitator through Applied Metapsychology International (AMI), I offer a structured, client-centered approach designed to reduce the emotional impact of traumatic experiences. TIR allows individuals to safely process unresolved memories, helping them regain a greater sense of calm, clarity, and empowerment.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps identify patterns of thinking that contribute to anxiety, emotional distress, and unhelpful behaviors. Together, we examine these patterns and develop practical strategies that support healthier ways of thinking and responding to life's challenges.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
CPT offers tools for examining beliefs that may have developed after traumatic experiences, including feelings of guilt, shame, or self-blame. Elements of CPT can help individuals develop more balanced perspectives and move beyond trauma-related "stuck points."
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT encourages greater psychological flexibility by helping individuals accept difficult thoughts and emotions while taking meaningful action guided by their personal values.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Techniques
When appropriate, I incorporate DBT-informed skills that strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative Therapy helps individuals explore the stories they've developed about themselves and their experiences. Together, we work to identify strengths, increase self-compassion, and create space for new perspectives that support healing and growth.
Mindfulness Practices
Mindfulness encourages present-moment awareness and helps regulate the nervous system. These practices can reduce emotional overwhelm while fostering greater calm, self-awareness, and connection.
Expressive Arts Techniques
Sometimes words alone aren't enough. Creative approaches such as writing, drawing, or other expressive techniques can provide meaningful ways to explore emotions, process experiences, and support healing.
Specialized Training
To provide the highest quality care, I remain committed to ongoing professional development and specialized trauma training, including:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS)
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional II (CCTP-II)
Certified Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) Facilitator through Applied Metapsychology International (AMI)
I remain committed to continuing education and lifelong learning so I can provide thoughtful, ethical, and evidence-informed care.
Taking the Next Step
