Fees & Insurance
Seeking therapy is a meaningful step toward understanding yourself more deeply and creating lasting change. At Third Eye Counseling, sessions are designed to provide a steady and thoughtful space where healing work can unfold at a pace that feels respectful of your experiences.
Session Fees
The standard fee for individual psychotherapy is:
Individual Therapy Session (53 minutes): $145
Sessions are conducted through secure telehealth and are available to adults located within the state of Maine, Florida, and Connecticut.
Payment is due at the time of service. Accepted payment methods include major credit cards and health savings or flexible spending accounts.
Insurance
Third Eye Counseling participates with several insurance plans, including:
Aetna
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
Community Health Options
Harvard Pilgrim
UnitedHealthcare / Optum
UMR
MaineCare
Medicare
Wellcare
Coverage varies depending on your specific plan. Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider to verify behavioral health benefits, including copayments, deductibles, and any session limits that may apply.
If you plan to use insurance, I will submit claims on your behalf.
Third Eye Counseling also participates with Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) including:
• CuraLinc Healthcare
• HealthAdvocate
EAP programs are short-term counseling benefits offered through some employers. These programs typically provide a limited number of sessions at no cost to the client. If you are unsure whether your employer offers an EAP benefit, your human resources department or benefits administrator can usually provide that information.
Coverage for insurance and EAP services varies depending on the specific plan. Clients are encouraged to verify their behavioral health benefits directly with their insurance provider or employer program before beginning services.
Using Out-of-Network Benefits
If your insurance plan is not listed above, you may still be able to receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.
In these cases, you would pay the session fee directly and may submit a receipt (sometimes called a “superbill”) to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
Many clients choose this option when they prefer to work with a therapist who is not directly contracted with their insurance plan.
A Note About Insurance and Therapy
Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis and may place certain limitations on treatment. Working within these systems sometimes means balancing clinical care with administrative requirements.
Some clients prefer to use insurance, while others choose private pay in order to maintain greater flexibility in their treatment. Either option can be discussed during our initial consultation so that you can decide what feels most appropriate for your situation.
